The name Belmonte literally means “beautiful hill” or “beautiful mountain”. My grandfather, Antonio Belmonte, was born in Picianello, Italy in 1909, in a mountainous region called the Abruzzo in the Southern Apennine Mountains. He immigrated to America, eventually settling in Arkansas. Now, in another region known for its beautiful hills, the Ozarks, a food company is born, honoring a family name, our Italian heritage, and the beautiful hills that we call home.
